Nomination Requirements for the ABA Spirit of Excellence Awards

Courtney King, Attorney

Courtney King, an attorney at Ice Miller LLP, is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tasked with advising clients on issues relating to labor and employment, Courtney King is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA).

The ABA has opened nominations for the annual Spirit of Excellence Awards, which will be presented at the ABA Midyear Meeting slated for February 4, 2017, at the JW Marriott Marquis Miami.
The awards recognize and honor the achievements of attorneys who work to promote diversity in the legal profession. They honor the accomplishments of lawyers at the national and state levels, while recognizing their commitment to encouraging ethnic and racial diversity in legal practice.
To be nominated for the award, an attorney must be a member of the ABA and submit a nomination form together with a resume, narrative biography, and photo. Candidates should also submit at most three letters from corporations or individuals that speak of the individual achievements of the nominee, explain how he/she has overcome barriers to achieve success, and discuss how he/she has opened doors and encouraged people from ethnically diverse backgrounds to succeed.
